Process documentation
from the work itself
Need to show someone how a task works? Record the actions once, check the screenshots and share an instruction they can follow. GuidePack is built for browser procedures, such as checking an order, applying a filter or finding a report
Try documenting a sample process →When a screenshot guide is the right format
A screenshot guide works well when the reader needs to repeat a short sequence of actions in a familiar tool. Each step can show where to click and explain the reason for the action. Unlike a video, a written guide is easy to scan at the point where someone gets stuck
For company policies, approval workflows or a searchable team knowledge base, a broader documentation system may be a better fit. GuidePack currently creates and exports local instructions; it does not provide those shared management features
A process handoff in four parts
- Choose one outcome – for example, find orders that still need payment
- Record the route – open the order list, apply the relevant filter and show the result
- Add the reason – describe which status to use and what the reader should check, without putting passwords or customer details into the guide
- Review and export – correct the wording, hide sensitive screenshot areas and download the finished document
What you get, and what you still review
| Task | GuidePack helps with | Your review |
|---|---|---|
| Capture | Steps, screenshots and click markers from browser actions | Remove detours and check that each marker points to the right place |
| Explain | Editable titles and descriptions, with voice AI to turn spoken explanations into clear instructions | Confirm the meaning and add any prerequisites or exceptions |
| Share | PDF, Word and HTML exports | Check private information and choose the version to distribute |
| Maintain | Continue an existing guide and edit its steps locally | Update it when the website or process changes and keep a backup |
Choosing process documentation software
Start with the result your reader needs. For a short browser procedure, look for accurate captures, readable text, screenshot editing and a portable export. If you need approvals, account permissions, a shared search or analytics about who read the guide, evaluate those capabilities separately
GuidePack turns the work you do in your browser into a document you can edit and share. Try the interactive demo to see the result for yourself
Try the output before choosing a tool
Use the fictional order workspace in our demo, then download your own PDF, Word or HTML guide. That lets you assess the format directly, without uploading company information
